“Narrative Lab: From Bench to Speech” is a dynamic academic exchange series designed for SMART PhD students. The program aims to enhance students’ academic English presentation skills and storytelling ability in science, equipping them for effective communication and global academic engagement. By focusing on cutting-edge research, classic scientific discoveries, and students’ own research backgrounds, this series lays a strong foundation for their proposal defenses and long-term research careers.

The first Narrative Lab session will launch in April 2025, with events held weekly. Key highlights include:

1. Special Guest Speaker:
The opening session will feature a prestigious Shenzhen Bay Laboratory Presidential Fellowship awardee, who will share insights on their research journey, scientific writing strategies, and tips for effective interdisciplinary collaboration.

2. Spotlight on Students：
Each regular session will feature 1–2 student speakers, with each giving a 30-minute presentation, followed by 10 minutes of Q&A and discussion.

3. Flexible Topics:
Students are encouraged to present based on their own research interests or published work—topics may include scientific problem framing, experimental design, methodology choices, or data interpretation.
